Less clutch and grab
"A handful of attempts have been made at this before, some at the beginning of the season and some after the All-Star break. But every time, the good intentions only went so far. The playoffs deteriorated so much at times that there was more clutching, grabbing and tackling than on a Sunday afternoon at Lambeau Field."
If applied consistently, this rule should benefit the Canucks, particularly the top line of Naslund, Bertuzzi, Morrison. The 'Nucks were the league's top scoring team last season and the first line has both speed and puck handling ability. The rule change won't likely compensate for the departures of some key players to free agency over the summer, but hopefully someone in the current system will step up to the proverbial plate.
